Never forget that 1 in every 30 children are being prescribed Psychiatric drugs. 186 deaths have been directly linked to Ritalin alone in a 10 year period.

GMO FACT #1 – “genetically modified ORGANISM (GMOs) are food you eat such as corn and soy that were manipulated in a laboratory by forcing DNA from a completely foreign species into them. If this doesn’t scare you, I don’t know what will. Furthermore, this foreign DNA may include virus, bacteria such as e coli bacteria, an insect, an animal or even humans resulting in traits that would be virtually impossible to obtain with natural processes. 75% of the processed food in the US is GMO. While 50 other countries require labeling of GMOs, the US prevents us from labeling GMOs.” – Pamm Larry (non-GMO Activist)

What we need to know is companies like monsanto who manipulate our foods, go against nature – aren’t doing any safety studies to show the LONG TERM effects that GMO can have on our environment and within our bodies! It’s completely insane… Time and time again they will tell you it’s safe and that they are working on “solving the food crisis.” These are all lies and propaganda… The FDA allows companies like Monsanto to be able to produce food that is hazardous to our health and they don’t have to label it as GMO… So ask yourself, is that tomatoe your eating; is that non-GMO? Is that seedless watermelon your eating good for you? I don’t put myself our my family at risk. These are the questions we SHOULD be asking ourselves because it’s about our health, it’s about the health of our families and ultimately it’s about our health as a country and world.

What’s even more interesting in this whole ordeal is that Michael Taylor, former VP and attorney for the biggest GMO Company, Monsanto, is now the Deputy Commissioner at the FDA. Many other former Monsanto executives are now in the FDA and USDA. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is a former Monsanto attorney. FDA chose to disregard strong warnings of FDA scientists and allowed GMOs in our food supply without any health studies or even labeling. Monsanto gives generous campaign contributions and uses heavy lobbying to politicians. It’s a revolving door Government that we have.

DO YOU THINK IT’S OK THAT THE PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES, FOOD COMPANIES OR OTHER INDURSTRIAL COMPANIES HAVE REPRESENTIVES WORKING FOR CONGRESS PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF THOSE COMPANIES. It’s called a CONFLICT OF INTEREST…. And, this sort of revolving door politics happens all of the time. SO, me personally, I opt out. I choose the high road instead of the low road. I choose to eat only organic food. I avoid anything processed, anything with soy, I avoid eating corn because my health is my number one priority but more importantly I don’t want to support an industry who cares nothing for my health.

BUY ORGANIC, KNOW YOUR LOCAL FARMERS AND SUPPORT THE ONES WHO DO THINGS NATURALLY…

Does my managed care program cover Chiropractic care? This is a question that we hear very often in our chiropractic office. Here is an overview of how most managed care companies work and their relationship to chiropractic and other wellness issues.

There is a wellness movement in society. According to a Harvard Medical School study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, in 1997 there were 629 million visits made to non-medical practitioners as opposed to 386 million visits to medical practitioners. This number is up from 425 million visits to holistic healthcare providers in 1990. Wow, that’s what I call growth!

This 204 million visit increase to health care providers outside the medical system, primarily chiropractors, has caused managed care companies and insurance companies to target holistic health care providers for inclusion in their managed care programs. When this happens, the HMO’s and managed care organizations set guidelines for that particular doctors’ practice.

Should doctors accept this role with a managed care insurance company; the doctor will no longer be working for you, the patient. That doctor will now be working for the insurance company.

For that doctor to stay in good standing with the insurance company who will be referring them lots of patients, that doctor will have to restrict your care. Prior to making decisions that support your individual needs, that doctor will need to get approval from somebody in an office who has never examined you, and knows nothing about your health goals.

As long as this is the protocol and hierarchy of the system, managed care will never be able to keep you healthy! Your health is your responsibility.

Think about it, if managed care assumed control over your wellness, it would look something like this…
• Thirty-six year old female:
Premium $325 per month will buy you one 12 ounce glass of bottled water per week, one 18 minute treadmill work out two times per week, one multivitamin every three days, one serving of green vegetables twice a week, and one chiropractic adjustment every four weeks.

• Forty-four year old male:
Premium $295 per month will buy you two 9 ounce glasses of bottled water per week, one 16 minute treadmill work out two times per week, one multivitamin every other day, two servings of green vegetables a week, and one chiropractic adjustment every three weeks.

• Four year old child:
Premium $98 dollars per month, one 6 oz. glass of bottled water every four days, one multivitamin per week and one chiropractic adjustment every two weeks.

While these examples might be made up, how different would it be in real life if managed care controlled your wellness? On the other hand, if you only implemented the things in your life that managed care said they would pay for, wouldn’t your wellness plan fall way short of its mark? Sure it would.

Medical insurance was designed for disease management, not wellness care. You and your family deserve much more than that, don’t you think? Absolutely!

Our chiropractic office has created an opportunity for you and your family to participate in true health and wellness care. We have adopted special financial policies that make ongoing chiropractic wellness care affordable for you and your entire family.

Every person deserves to be is healthy as possible! This includes you and this absolutely includes your family. Reclaim responsibility for your family’s health and wellness. Join the millions of other families who have chosen to make chiropractic a part of their lifestyle.

My most deepest passion is bringing you the truth. And, with that comes great responsibility that’s why I spend hours every month putting together these informative letters. I want you to have the same level of health that I have. Aspartame is a deadly sweetener it is known as an excitotoxin because it’s free floating amino acids literally “excite” your brain cells to death, meaning your brain cells excessively fire off and eventually die. Here are the ingredients: aspartic acid, phenylalanine & methanol. The methanol actually breaks down into Formaldehyde in the gut. If you have ever been in a cadaver lab (like me) you know that they use it as a embalming agent to help preserve tissues.

Aspartic Acid and Phenylalanine actually cross your blood brain barrier as free floating amino acids and cause your neurons in your brain to over fire (not good). Hundreds if not Thousands of studies have linked Aspartame to:
o	Headaches/migraines
o	Nausea
o	Abdominal pains
o	Fatigue (blocks sufficient glucose entry into brain)
o	Sleep problems
o	Vision problems
o	Anxiety attacks
o	Depression
o	Asthma/chest tightness
o	including but not limited to:
o	Emotional disorders
o	Epilepsy/seizures
o	Fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome
o	Parkinson’s disease
o	Memory loss, and Alzheimer’s disease
o	Cancer

STAY INFORMED: READ YOUR FOOD LABELS

AVOID:
ALL DIET SODA
CHEWING GUM SWEETENED WITH ASPARTAME (pretty much all)
ANYTHING SUGAR FREE

Other Interesting and scary facts:

Monsanto owns nutrasweet the producer behind this deadly poison. This is the same company that is responsible for Agent Orange, PCB’S, Bovine Growth Hormone, Round Up Herbicide.

As taken from healingdaily.com
More on the Monsanto company: Monsanto is the world’s largest manufacturer of poisons, not only of the citizens of the world but also of the environment. In 1995, Monsanto ranked 5th among US corporations in the EPA’s Toxic Release Inventory, having discharged 37 million pounds of toxic chemicals into the air, land, water and underground.
Responsible for mass poisoning of the world. How Robert B. Shapiro, President and CEO of Monsanto and the other members of the board, many of whom call themselves “Doctors” can live with themselves, knowing what they and the company are responsible for is incomprehensible. The entire lot should be prosecuted for mass genocide. Their track record of plain lying, falsifying and concealing data, bribery of officials, and the list goes on, is truly astonishing.
To quote the Toronto Globe and Mail reporting on the outcome of a three year trial, “The evidence of Monsanto’s executives at the trial portrayed a corporate culture where sales and profits were given a higher priority than the safety of products and its workers….. They just didn’t care about the health and safety of their workers. Instead of trying to make things safer, they relied on intimidation and threatened layoffs to keep their employees working”.

The choice is yours. In order to be healthy you must certainly eliminate toxins. The easiest rule of thumb that I follow if “MAN” ever says that they have a new whiz-bang product to take the place of something that is naturally occurring in nature I don’t eat it! By the way the patent is up on Aspartame so the new one they are to come out with is NEOTOME. AVOID it at all costs.

In my first two years in undergrad, as I was headed towards a medical degree, I took a whole lot of psychology classes. I assumed most problems with getting people well would revolve around mindsets and emotions. (It turned out that I was right.)

In many of my classes, we had to review some horrible animal studies – studies that would surely be shut down if PETA found out about them. Several of these studies involved putting food and/or freedom in front of an animal. When the animal would move toward the food or toward freedom, it would receive a nasty jolt of electricity. With enough shocks and time, that animal no longer attempted to either meet its needs or pursue freedom. It gave up; overwhelmed, over-stressed, and permanently deterred by pain of the shock.

If you have any goals at all, especially big ones, you’re going to run into challenges, conflict, opposition, resistance, failure, rejection, and struggle… Stress. In other words, you’ll likely get “shocked” any time you go for anything worth having. Suffer enough shocks, enough “stress”, and unfortunately, eventually you’ll believe you can’t or that it’s not worth it. Over time, you learn hopelessness.

Stress creates a measurable effect on your ability to remember, learn, function, and hope. The more intense the stress, the greater the damage. In war time, battlefront situations can create enough stress in short period of time to brainwash someone into hopelessness. That is an obvious example where anyone would expect that result. It’s more insidious than that for the typical person in that it happens more gradually and almost unconsciously. Daily stresses, over time, can brainwash anyone into hopelessness and despair; brainwash them into being a limited person.

The saddest story ever told is what “Might’ve been;” the life we could have lived if we hadn’t let the “shocks” or the stress deter us. When we are brainwashed, we believe the lie of hopelessness that our problems, our “shocks,” are quitting points that can’t be overcome. In reality, the problems we face are not stop signs, but guide posts on the path of life, learning, and success.

How this looks today, from a health care perspective, is that people succumb to hopelessness and give up when it comes to their mental and physical wellness. This quitting looks like only 13% of Americans exercising, 60% of Americans overweight, 30% morbidly obese, and medicating our hopelessness with anti-depressants. Outside of health care, learned hopelessness is at the core and very much responsible for the job and economic crisis.
Learned hopelessness makes it so most people don’t believe in their dreams, and worse, don’t know that they don’t believe in their dreams anymore. They wouldn’t recognize their dreams, by this point, if they came and kissed them in the face. Which is, in fact, what their dreams are doing.

Let us help you turn what “might’ve been” into what will be!

Independent Thinkers Vaccines fact sheet

Modern medicine tells us we must vaccinate our children. Vaccines are also developed for adults. Most of us believe these injections are “insurance policies” for our health. The reality is that vaccinations have never-in all of history-diminished the incidence of disease. Here are 10 facts you should know.

1.	Vaccines are made from live pathogens grown (or cultured) in animal blood, animal tissue, chicken embryos and aborted human fetal cells.
2.	Vaccine cultures are preserved with neurotoxins such as mercury (thimerosal), formaldehyde, phenol, aluminum and MSG. These toxic mixtures are directly injected into babies, children and adults, bypassing the body’s built-in filters (cilia, tonsils, skin).
3.	Childhood vaccinations are the first assault on the normal functioning of the body, creating neurological damage and debilitating the immune system.
4.	Today’s children are routinely vaccinated by pediatricians performing what they believe to be “preventative” medicine. By age six, most children have been exposed to more than 100 viral strains.
5.	Vaccines are frequently administered in combination, as in measles/mumps/rubella (MMR). In nature itself one would never encounter this type of multiple viral load.
6.	With repeated injections, the damage caused by vaccines can lead to developmental problems, auto-immune disease, sudden infant death (SIDS), autism and more.
7.	One out of five American children now has “special needs”. These include learning disabilities, attention-deficit disorders and behavioral issues, creating a whole new market for certain kinds of prescription drugs.
8.	Contrary to popular belief, parents are not legally obligated to vaccinate their children. Most states allow exemptions for medical, religious or philosophical reasons. (check your own state’s laws.)
9.	Plagues such as smallpox and polio were never eradicated by vaccines. Smallpox declined with improved sanitation, and polio persists under many new names.
10.	The United States vaccinates more than any other country and yet we are the sickest country. Beware of future “pandemics” and federal imposition of mandatory vaccinations.

Do you think a caterpillar is afraid to turn into a butterfly?
Caterpillar or butterfly? When a caterpillar is born, do they know what’s in store for them?

I mean, they come into the world, and discover that their life is pretty messy. They crawl in the dirt, eat leaves, and probably don’t move more than a few hundred square feet from where they were born.

They constantly are in danger of getting squashed by humans and other animals, eaten by predators, and move so slow that their only defense is that they can blend into a background.

I wonder if some days they look up and see those birds that constantly try and eat them and wish they could fly?

I wonder if they realize that someday they will not look anything like they did before and have amazing powers and abilities beyond what they have now?

I wonder if they know that a transformation will take place, and I wonder if they dread it. I wonder if they are afraid of the process they must go through to turn into a butterfly?

The caterpillar MUST essentially “die”, go into a cocoon, and wait days for their transformation to take place. I wonder if that process is scary, painful, or perhaps undesirable for the caterpillar. I wonder if they fight this natural process they must go through in order to get wings, color, and freedom.

Do they secretly desire to stay crawling in the dirt, subject to nature and predators? Do they tell their maker, “NO!” It’s too hard, it’s too scary! I’m fine right where I am! I can make this work – just let me hang on.

Of course – this is all speculation, but when I watch the highest form of life approach this same metamorphosis – they seem to act like a caterpillar that is fighting to become a butterfly.

We fight the process of becoming colorful, strong, free – we fight our true identity inside by demanding we stay caterpillars, because that is what we know, and we fear the ability to fly, the ability to go to new heights. As we stay caterpillars, we deny the butterfly inside of us and we crave the comfortable.

At some point, every person reaches a point in their life where the time has come to stop crawling. Time to stop ducking their heads behind leaves and avoiding predators. They face a time where they must give up their life – what they know and what they understand – to allow the metamorphosis to occur. To allow something to die and then surrender to a process that turns them into their true selves. Their reason for living, their true selves. For their heart to be exposed and for the world to see them as who they are, and for their gifts and passions to come through and bring beauty into the world.

So caterpillar, are you afraid of becoming a butterfly?

LEGAL ASPECTS OF VACCINATIONS:
WAIVERS AND COMPENSATION

As Taken From Global Vaccine Awareness League

The decision whether or not to vaccinate is an important one. No matter where you stand on the issue, there are undeniably risks involved on both sides: on one side is the risk of your child contracting a disease if you decide not to vaccinate; on the other side is the risk of injury or death if you do vaccinate. The crux of the matter is of course the likelihood of such a tragedy, which is subject to debate. What cannot be debated is that your right as a parent not to vaccinate your child if you so choose is not widely known, and exercising such rights is not encouraged. Furthermore, the remedies available to those whose children have suffered injury or death from vaccines are limited by law, are expensive and time-consuming to obtain, and are generally unknown to the public. It is the mission of GVAL to publicize this potentially tragic situation and to work for reform. Only when people know their rights can they make an informed choice – this is a fundamental tenet of a free society. Therefore, it is essential to those concerned about the vaccination decision to know what the law provides.

A majority of states have enacted into law some kind of exemption from mandatory childhood vaccinations, based either upon personal or religious belief or for medical reasons. In California, state law provides for mandatory vaccinations for diphtheria, hepatitis, influenza, measles, mumps, pertussis, poliomyelitis, rubella and tetanus, and any other diseases designated by the Department of Health Services in consultation with the Center for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. This requirement is waived if the person “files with the governing authority a letter or affidavit stating that the immunization is contrary to his or her beliefs.” If the exemption is exercised, the student may be temporarily excluded from school if “there is good cause to believe that the person has been exposed” to one of the enumerated diseases “until the local health officer is satisfied that the person is no longer at risk of developing the disease.” (California Health and Safety Code Section 120365). This is the “personal beliefs” exemption in California law.

The exemption is fairly easy to exercise. Each student in California is required to submit a “California School Immunization Record” to be admitted to school

On the reverse of the form is the following statement: “I hereby request exemption of the child, named in the front, from the immunization requirements for school/child care center entry because these immunizations are contrary to my beliefs. I understand that in case of an outbreak of any of these diseases, the child may be temporarily excluded from school for his/her protection.” To exercise the exemption, you simply sign the immunization record under this statement.

Sample Letter

Date:
School/Institution
Address

To Whom it May Concern,

This letter is to serve as an affidavit, stating that vaccinations are contrary to what I believe is healthy for my child, (name of child)

Health & Safety Code #120365. states that, it is my legal right to decline such vaccinations for my child.

Thank you kindly,

Your name

More than half in U.S. take supplements, despite little evidence that they help
By Rachael Rettner

More than half of Americans take dietary supplements, with the multivitamin being the most commonly used, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Between 1988 and 1994, 42 percent of the U.S. population said they took at least one dietary supplement. That increased to 53 percent between 2003 and 2006, the report says.

But do these pills really have the power to make you healthier?

By Rachael Rettner

More than half of Americans take dietary supplements, with the multivitamin being the most commonly used, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Between 1988 and 1994, 42 percent of the U.S. population said they took at least one dietary supplement. That increased to 53 percent between 2003 and 2006, the report says.

But do these pills really have the power to make you healthier?

Despite their ubiquity, there is no evidence that taking a multivitamin regularly has the ability to ward off chronic diseases, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease, said Roberta Anding, a registered dietician and spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.

In general, it’s better to get vitamins from food rather than in supplement form. The whole food likely contains other nutrients that are healthy, such as the pigments that give tomatoes their red color, Anding said.

That’s not to say you shouldn’t take a multivitamin if you want to. But these pills should be viewed as exactly what their name suggests — a supplement to a healthy diet, and not the basis for one.

”If you want an insurance policy, I don’t think there’s any harm” in taking a multivitamin, Anding said. “If it’s not an insurance policy, but you’re trying to use it as the glue that holds together a poor diet — it’s not that,” she said.

Fruits and veggies are better

A diet high in fruits, and vegetables has been linked to a decreased risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and stroke, among other diseases. The same can’t be said for supplements.

“Whole foods trump supplements in our quest to live better and longer,” said Katherine Tallmadge, a registered dietitian and spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.

Some nutrients, such as vitamin E found in nuts, are absorbed better by your body when they are consumed in their natural form as opposed to supplement form, Anding said.

On the flip side, nutrients such as folic acid are actually absorbed better in supplement form, she said.

But whole foods have the edge when it comes to other potentially beneficial nutrients, such as pigments and indoles, a compound found in vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower, Anding said.

“There are so many nutrients we haven’t even discovered yet,” Tallmadge said.

Exceptions
There are cases in which people may need to take dietary supplements because it can be difficult to get enough of certain vitamins and minerals through natural sources alone.

For example, our bodies make vitamin D from exposure to sunlight. But people who live in regions that don’t get a lot of sun might need a supplement to ensure they get adequate levels of this vitamin

In addition, it’s recommended that women who are pregnant or are thinking about becoming pregnant take a folic acid supplement to prevent anemia and certain birth defects, according to the National Women’s Health Information Center.

There are a few risks to taking supplements. Several vitamins can impact the effectiveness of medications. For instance, vitamin C may interfere with the ability of chemotherapy drugs to work, Anding said. Also, if an individual takes too many minerals at once, the minerals may compete with each other in the body and lead to a deficiency in one of these minerals, Tallmadge said.

If people choose to take supplements, Anding recommends they take ones that provide 100 percent of the daily value for a particular vitamin, rather than high potency vitamins, which often supply a much higher dose of vitamins than you need in a day.

Diet and exercise matter more
Taking supplements may also lead people to believe they are immune to the hazards of eating junk food or getting too little exercise, as was suggested by a recent study

“They want to be able to eat their french fries and their ice cream and not have to worry about a healthy diet,” Tallmadge said. “And just take supplements to make up for it. There’s no evidence that they will.”

She notes three-quarters of Americans are overweight or obese. “Clearly, those supplements aren’t helping much,” Tallmadge said.

A person’s lifestyle and overall diet make the most difference in terms of the major chronic illnesses that afflict Americans, she said.
